Privacy Policy
The short version
MegaFlashCards does not collect, store, or share any personal data. Your learning progress and preferences are saved only in your own browser, on your own device. There are no tracking cookies, no analytics scripts, no advertising, and no user accounts.
What is stored, and where
To make the flashcards work, the site uses your browser's localStorage — a small storage area that never leaves your device. It holds:
- your progress in each course (current round, position, and which cards you missed),
- your interface preferences (selected languages, dismissed notices).
This information is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. Clearing your browser's site data deletes it permanently. Because this storage is strictly necessary for the service you request (remembering your progress), it does not require consent under the ePrivacy rules.
What we do not do
- We do not use cookies of any kind.
- We do not run analytics or tracking scripts.
- We do not collect names, email addresses, IP-address profiles, or any other personal data.
- We do not share data with third parties — there is no data to share.
Audio pronunciation
Word pronunciation uses the speech synthesis built into your own browser or operating system. Depending on your platform, your device's speech engine may process the requested text; this happens under your platform vendor's privacy terms and is not controlled or observed by us.
Server logs
Like virtually all websites, the server that delivers these pages may keep short-lived technical logs (requested URL, timestamp, IP address, user agent) for security and operational purposes. These logs are not used to identify or profile visitors and are deleted routinely.
Your rights (GDPR)
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Since we hold no personal data about you, there is typically nothing for us to look up or delete — your data lives on your device and is entirely under your control. If you have any question or request, contact us and we will respond without undue delay.
Children
The site is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If we ever introduce features that process personal data (for example, optional accounts or analytics), this policy will be updated first and any consent required will be requested before such processing begins.
